Course Description:
Step into the world of responsible handgun ownership with our Introduction to Handgun Safety and Shooting course. This foundational class is designed for beginners who want to build a solid understanding of handgun operation, safety protocols, and marksmanship fundamentals in a supportive and educational environment.
Course Objectives:
Firearm Safety Essentials: Learn and practice the four basic rules of firearm safety, ensuring a strong foundation for responsible gun handling.
Handgun Mechanics: Gain familiarity with various types of handguns, their parts, and basic functions, including proper loading and unloading procedures.
Shooting Fundamentals: Discover the principles of accurate shooting, including proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control.
Legal Responsibilities: Understand the legal aspects of handgun ownership and use in your jurisdiction.
Course Structure:
Classroom Instruction: Begin with a comprehensive overview of handgun safety, basic mechanics, and legal considerations.
Hands-On Training: Practice proper handling techniques with inert training firearms under close instructor supervision.
Live Fire Exercise: Apply your newly acquired knowledge in a controlled range environment, shooting live ammunition under direct instructor guidance.
Prerequisites:
Age: Participants must be at least 21 years old or 18 with parent/guardian permission.
What to Bring:
- Valid photo ID
- Comfortable clothing suitable for a range environment
- Closed-toe shoes.
- Eye and ear protection will be provided, but you may bring your own if preferred.
