Course Description:

Precision Point offers and encourages the usage of holsters on the public range. These skills are fundamental for both personal defense, as well in the shooting sports. With that said, proper understanding of how to work from the holster is essential for safe gun handling. The Holster Draw Certification is intended for just that. Whether a novice, or experienced end-user, this holster draw course covers safety fundamentals, common-mistakes, gear considerations, and all basics needed to ensure safe-practice on your own.

Course Objectives:

Fundamentals of Safe Handling: Review essential safety protocols to ensure proper firearm management throughout the draw process.

Holster Selection and Placement: Understand how to choose the right holster and position it for optimal accessibility and comfort.

Drawing Techniques: Learn and practice the step-by-step mechanics of an efficient draw, including grip, stance, and presentation.

Live fire: Engage in exercises that prove your understanding of course topics.

Course Structure:

Safety Review: Begin with a comprehensive review of firearm safety principles specific to holster draw situations.

Holster Fundamentals: Learn about different types of holsters and their proper use and placement.

Dry Practice: Practice draw techniques without live ammunition to build muscle memory and refine form.

Live Fire Exercises: Apply learned skills on the range with live ammunition under close instructor supervision.

Prerequisites:

Participants should have a basic understanding of firearm operation and safety.

What to Bring:

  • Personal firearm and a strong-side outside-the-waistband holster (consult with us about suitability prior to class)
  • Ammunition (at least 25 rounds)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Appropriate attire for active training (e.g., pants w/ belt loops, sturdy footwear).
  • Well-fitted and sturdy belt.
