Begin your journey toward obtaining your Maryland Wear and Carry Permit with our comprehensive Day 1 training. This course combines essential classroom instruction with practical shooting experience on the range, providing you with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills required to responsibly carry and use a firearm in accordance with Maryland’s regulations.
Course Objectives:
Legal Foundations: Understand the legal requirements and responsibilities associated with carrying a concealed firearm in Maryland.
Firearm Safety Principles: Learn and reinforce key safety protocols for handling firearms.
Basic Firearm Operation: Gain a comprehensive overview of how to operate different types of firearms.
Concealed Carry Considerations: Explore best practices for carrying a concealed firearm.
Range Training: Engage in practical shooting exercises to apply skills learned in the classroom.
Scenario Drills: Participate in scenario-based drills that simulate real-world situations.
Classroom Instruction:
Review of state and federal laws, permit application processes, safety protocols, and concealed carry techniques.
Range Training: Practical shooting exercises focusing on accuracy, safety, and confidence.
Scenario-Based Drills: Simulations of real-world situations to practice drawing from concealment and responding to various scenarios.
Prerequisites:
Age: Participants must meet Maryland’s age requirements for obtaining a Wear and Carry Permit.
What to Bring:
- Personal firearm (consult with us about suitability prior to class).
- Holster (must be a strong side, outside-the-waistband).
- Ammunition (at least 150 rounds).
- Eye and ear protection.
- Appropriate attire for active training.
- Well-fitting and sturdy belt.
